Ditto on the olive oil. Per Ayurvedic medicine, you shouldn't use anything on your skin that you wouldn't put in your mouth. After all, your skin is one large organ and will absorb what you put on it. Olive oil is a good makeup remover. I've also used sunflower seed oil after a shower. Right at the end, I apply it all over and then have a warm rinse-off and towel dry.

Oh, forgot to say - pure olive oil soap is great too. In the US there is a popular line called "Kiss My Face" that makes all kinds of soap, shampoo, body lotion, etc. I use their olive oil soap on my sensitive skin and am very satisfied with it. The bars are huge and inexpensive. Who needs premium products?
One caution about natural products: It's possible to have allergic reactions to them, just as with commercial products. For instance, when I used oatmeal as a face mask, it made me break out. So, common sense rules - if you have a reaction to something, don't use it!

Yes, good old Vaseline is on my tried-and-true list. You can use it to remove eye makeup, as a lip balm, and it's very soothing to irritated skin (I'm just getting over a cold and it's kept my nose from getting rough and red).
